Thai Lion Air (TLA) will double the frequency of non-stop flights between Udon Thani and Hat Yai to meet strong demand. Beginning on Nov 17, the low-cost carrier will raise the number of flights on the route to six a week from three at present. TLA executives said yesterday that the airline was capitalising on a route in which no other carriers operate on a non-stop basis. The increased Udon Thani-Hat Yai flights are expected to be the last adjustment in TLA's flight plan for 2016. Meanwhile, TLA's plan to embark on regular flights to the southern Thai province of Trang from Don Mueang is awaiting regulatory approval from the Transport Ministry.
